Hey there!
Sorry that I didnt update you guys with what happened after that and post the recovery so here goes....
As per the last update I was to wait for another week and then see if things were fine or if a surgery was needed, well turns out that the doc that I went to was a complete moron! The plaster came loose in the mid of the third week and the pains and cramps were back so I went to a diff doc and he advised that I put a full plaster all over my hand for another 3 weeks. Not something that I wanted to hear that time but u got to do what u got to do I guess, and so, the plaster was back on!
However this time unlike the last collar bone fracture, I stayed home and didnt go anywhere which would have made the 3 weeks a living hell! Fortunately for me I had my school friends who took me to places that I like to hang out at so it wasnt that bad :)
After the 3 weeks the plaster came off and I got most of my hand movement back (about 95%). I still have a few issues but they arent anything major. When I have time, i would have to go in for a out patient surgery to get the bone set right. Till then, Im good with it. So yeah, im not happy about the fact that I had to lose 6 weeks in the office which in turn came back and bit me in my ass at the year end review but on the other hand, im okay with it cos of the way things turned out after I went back to office.
I went back to office in April i suppose after a 6-7 week leave and started working hard towards getting the productivity back up. Ofcourse its a bit hard considering I only had one good arm at that point of time but still. During this time there were a few promotions that were gonna happen in the next level team and hence they were looking for a backfill from our team (4 to be precise) and I knew that I had to do anything to ensure that I get it cos it would have been good for me. So i worked, worked and worked even more till the interview happened in May i think. Interview went well with the manager. He looked at the data and everything. Oh by the way... our target for the year was around 4500 incidents to be created to get 100% weightage in the stacks. Now since my 7 weeks were a loss of leave they would not be excluded from the time frame but guess wht.. I hit exactly the number that I was supposed to in order to get a 100% stack for that metric (YAY!!). Coming back to the interview, as I said it went well and then it was just a waiting game. Its funny how frustrating waiting can become but still it paid off as I was one of the 4 members who were selected for it. Not a pay hike so dont ask for a party but a level hike which was good as well.
Right now things are going well in the professional front and am hoping for it to stay that way.
On the personal level.... IM GETTING MARRIED IN DECEMBER!!!!!!!! :)
Yup! Its with the same girl whom I have dated for the last 6 almost 7 years now. Feels good to end up with the person whom u wish to end up with i say.
Well that's about it that I can share as of now, there are other things which I dont wanna get into.
Im trying to add a new revolving map to the blog in which your location on it will blink when one of you are viewing the page so that's something cool.
Take care and wait for any further updates from me :)
